If Championship Soccer 2026 (3D) feels jerky, pauses briefly during matches or does not run smoothly, start with the built-in “Graphics test and advice” feature. It tests different settings on your own computer and helps you find a suitable balance between smooth gameplay and picture quality.

Recent updates have improved match performance, including player animations, collisions and rendering at high screen resolutions. The latest Windows and macOS releases include these improvements.

The expanded graphics test is available in version 2026.10.21.4 or newer. Please update before following the steps below. You do not need technical knowledge, Terminal commands or additional software to run the test.

Start with the automatic graphics test

1. Open the game and select “Options” from the main menu. You do not need to start a match first.
2. Open “Advanced video options”.
3. Find “Graphics test and advice” and click “Start”. Read the short explanation, then click “Start” again to begin.
4. Let the test finish. Allow a few minutes. The game automatically runs match scenes using different graphics settings. Close other demanding applications beforehand and leave the game running during the test. You do not need to control the players or adjust anything. Pressing Esc cancels the test.
5. Read the result. If the test finds a better setting, click “Apply” to use the recommendation. “Keep current” leaves your existing settings unchanged.

The aim is to preserve as much visual quality as possible while finding settings that run well on your computer. The test compares options such as shadows, spectators, visual effects and internal rendering resolution. It does not simply turn everything down to minimum.

What if there is nothing to apply?

If the result says “Your current settings are already the best choice tested”, you do not need to change anything. Click “Done” and continue playing.

Sometimes the test cannot confirm a better setting. This does not automatically mean your computer is too slow. Other activity on the computer or inconsistent results can make the comparison inconclusive.

After applying a recommendation, try a normal match. The test is a useful sample, but it cannot cover every possible match situation. If you are still seeing stuttering, please send the report as described below, even if the test recommends keeping your current settings.
How to check performance during a match

You can display the game’s current update rate directly while playing:

1. Start a match and make sure the game window is active.
2. Press and hold the letter F, the ordinary F key, not Fn or F1.
3. Look near the top-right corner of the screen.
4. Release F to hide the display.

This also works on a MacBook keyboard without a numeric keypad. You will see something like:

Physics update rate: 60/s (actual: 60/s)

Here is what the numbers mean:

- The first 60/s is the target selected in Options → Physics update rate / game speed.
- “Actual: 60/s” means the game is completing approximately 60 match updates per second.

If the actual number stays close to the selected target during normal play, the match simulation is keeping up. Small fluctuations are normal. If it regularly stays noticeably below the target, the game is not consistently reaching the selected update rate.

This is an update-rate display, not a separate graphics FPS counter. It measures how often the match simulation updates, rather than how many images reach your screen. A good update rate therefore does not rule out every possible display stutter.

The selected game speed also limits the rate being measured. If you have chosen 60, an actual value around 60 is the expected result. It does not mean your computer is only powerful enough to achieve 60. There may still be plenty of performance available.

If your keyboard has a numeric keypad, NumPad + and NumPad − also show the display briefly. However, they increase or decrease the game speed at the same time. Holding F is the better choice when you only want to check performance without changing anything.

There is currently no separate option to keep a graphics FPS counter permanently visible.
Still experiencing stuttering? Send the report

The automatic graphics test creates a ZIP file named “ChampionshipSoccer-Video” containing information about your system and the performance measured with different settings.

To find it:

1. On the results screen, click “Open report folder”.
2. Your file manager opens: Explorer on Windows or Finder on macOS.
3. Find that ZIP file and attach it to your bug report or support message. There is no need to unzip it.

The results screen also shows the file’s full location. Nothing is uploaded automatically.

Please include your game version and briefly describe when the stuttering happens: throughout the match, during collisions, around goals, or only occasionally. If you checked the display using F, include both the selected target and the actual value you observed.

You can submit a performance problem with the ZIP through Bugs & Ideas:

The report and your description help me investigate the cause and make more targeted improvements.

Two optional checks that can help

- Try “Very Low” graphics temporarily. Go to Options → Advanced video options → Preset and select “Very Low” using the arrows. Then try a match. If this makes a clear difference, tell me when sending your report. You may only need to reduce one demanding feature rather than keep everything at minimum. The automatic test already compares several of these possibilities. Note your original preset or custom values first so you can restore them afterwards.

- Try a slightly lower game speed. Under Options, find “Physics update rate / game speed”. Note the original value before lowering it a little. This reduces the work needed each second, but also slows the pace of play, so use it only if the result feels comfortable. You can restore the original value at any time.

For high-resolution screens, “Internal render resolution” is another useful setting. It lets the game draw the match at a lower resolution while keeping menus and on-screen information sharp. Lower values can improve performance, but make the match image softer. The automatic test considers this trade-off, so I recommend running it before reducing resolution manually.

Please share how the updated game performs on your computer. Did the recommendation make matches smoother, and which settings helped? Feedback here in the forum is welcome. If a problem remains, sending the ZIP with your report gives me more to investigate.
