Hey everyone! I bought this game last week, and I just felt the need to come here and share something with you all.

I'm 56 years old, and I've been playing football games for as long as I can remember. I've lived through every single game featured in this game's promotional video on YouTube. Those games weren't just entertainment for me. They were part of my life, my childhood, my teenage years, and countless wonderful memories.

This morning, I found myself thinking about the experience I've had with this game so far, and something became very clear to me: I honestly can't remember the last time a football game made me feel this happy.

There's something truly special about playing a game that brings back the magic of Kick Off, Player Manager, Sensible Soccer, Championship Manager, and Football Manager, while delivering such incredibly fun and satisfying gameplay. It's not just nostalgia. It's that wonderful feeling of being completely absorbed in a game, losing track of time, and simply enjoying every minute of it.

Of course, there are a few things I'd love to see improved, especially the tactical side, which I feel could offer a little more depth. But these are small details compared to everything this game gets right.

And here's something I genuinely mean: beyond happily paying for this game, I'd absolutely love to buy its creator a round of beers, sit down somewhere, and spend an entire afternoon talking about football, video games, and all those incredible memories we've collected over the years.

To the developer: congratulations! You've created something that goes far beyond a great football game. You've managed to bring back a feeling that I thought had been lost somewhere along the way.

Ich bin 43 Jahre alt und spiele Fußballspiele (jeglicher Art), seit ich denken kann – oder zumindest, seit ich einen Joystick und eine Maus bedienen konnte. ;-) Meine erste große Liebe war Sensible Soccer und seit damals habe ich von einem Spiel geträumt, das mir genau das bietet, was ich mir von einer Fußballsimulation dieser Art wünsche: Ein möglichst authentisches Geschehen auf dem Rasen, unzählige Möglichkeiten abseits davon und vor allem eines: Spielspaß, Spielspaß und nochmals Spielspaß!

Mit Championship Soccer 2026 ist dieser Traum für mich endlich Wirklichkeit geworden.

Was Entwickler Andreas hier geschaffen hat, ist schlichtweg außergewöhnlich. Und wenn man bedenkt, dass hinter diesem Spiel kein riesiges Entwicklerstudio mit Millionenbudget, sondern ein einzelner Mensch steht, ist die Leistung umso beeindruckender.

Das Herzstück ist für mich das Geschehen auf dem Fußballplatz. Die Partien machen unglaublich viel Spaß, und gerade das Spielverhalten der Mannschaften und Spieler hat mich vom ersten Moment an begeistert. Es fühlt sich nach Fußball an und nicht nach einer bloßen Aneinanderreihung vorgefertigter Animationen.

Dabei beschränkt sich Championship Soccer keineswegs auf das eigentliche Fußballspielen. Ganz im Gegenteil: Ob man selbst einen einzelnen Spieler steuern, eine komplette Mannschaft übernehmen, eine Spielerkarriere erleben oder als Trainer und Manager einen Verein durch die Fußballwelt führen möchte – die Möglichkeiten sind enorm. Dazu kommen tausende Vereine, zehntausende Spieler, Transfers, Scouting, Vertragsverhandlungen und zahlreiche weitere Funktionen, die für eine langfristige Motivation sorgen.

Was mich besonders begeistert, ist die Freiheit, die mir Championship Soccer lässt. Ich kann mich intensiv mit Statistiken, Taktiken und den zahlreichen Managementmöglichkeiten beschäftigen, wenn ich das möchte. Ich muss es aber nicht! Ich kann mich auch einfach zurücklehnen, Fußball genießen und meine ganz persönliche Geschichte schreiben. Genau diese Kombination aus Spieltiefe und Unbeschwertheit habe ich bei vielen anderen (Fußball-)Spielen vermisst.

Und damit komme ich zu einem weiteren Punkt, der mir besonders am Herzen liegt, dem Entwickler selbst.

Andreas entwickelt Championship Soccer als Ein-Mann-Projekt und nimmt sich trotzdem außergewöhnlich viel Zeit für seine Community. Ich habe ihm einige Fragen gestellt, Beobachtungen geschildert und Verbesserungsvorschläge gemacht. Seine freundlichen, ausführlichen und hilfreichen Antworten haben mich mindestens ebenso beeindruckt wie seine Offenheit gegenüber Rückmeldungen. Hier hat man tatsächlich das Gefühl, dass jemand nicht einfach nur ein Produkt verkaufen, sondern mit großer Leidenschaft ein außergewöhnliches Spiel erschaffen und immer weiter verbessern möchte.

Championship Soccer 2026 befindet sich noch "in der Produktion". Es gibt also noch Dinge, die verbessert, erweitert oder ausgereift werden können. Das sollte man bei aller Begeisterung nicht vergessen. Aber es wird stetig weiterentwickelt und schon jetzt bietet dieses Spiel für mich etwas, das viele wesentlich größere Produktionen trotz ihrer enormen finanziellen und personellen Möglichkeiten nicht erreichen. Es begeistert mich mit seinem eigentlichen Spielprinzip, bereitet mir unglaublich viel Freude und kann meiner Meinung nach bedenkenlos wie eine Vollversion gespielt werden. Ich glaube mit der Meinung betreffend der Vollversion stehe ich nicht alleine da, was ich von vielen anderen Nutzern schon so alles Positive gelesen habe.

Ich persönlich finde sogar, dass Championship Soccer den Vergleich mit den großen Fußballspielen keineswegs scheuen muss. Im Gegenteil: Rein vom Spaßfaktor her hat es für mich EA Sports FC und andere namhafte Vertreter des Genres längst hinter sich gelassen.

Deshalb möchte ich zum Abschluss noch etwas hervorheben: Dieses Projekt verdient es, unterstützt zu werden! Nicht aus Mitleid mit einem kleinen Entwickler, sondern weil hier etwas wirklich Besonderes entsteht. Wer Fußballspiele liebt, sollte sich Championship Soccer unbedingt näher ansehen. Und wer sich für die kostenpflichtige 3D-Version entscheidet, bekommt nicht nur ein außergewöhnliches Spiel, sondern unterstützt gleichzeitig dessen weitere Entwicklung.

Ich habe jedenfalls keinen Cent meines Kaufpreises bereut. Im Gegenteil: Ich habe sogar das Gefühl, für das Gebotene zu wenig bezahlt zu haben. Deshalb steht für mich fest, dass ich dieses Projekt auch in Zukunft unterstützen werde.

Championship Soccer 2026 ist für mich schon jetzt eine echte Perle, ein wahr gewordener Kindheitstraum und eines jener seltenen Spiele, bei denen man sich bereits während des Spielens auf die nächste Partie freut.

Meine Bewertung: 6 von 5 möglichen Sternen!

Und was mein ehemaliger Mathematiklehrer dazu sagen würde, ist mir ausnahmsweise völlig egal. ;-) Jedenfalls würde ich ihm dringend empfehlen das Spiel auszuprobieren, da er meines Wissens auch gerne Sport- und Fußballspiele gezockt hat. Diese Empfehlung möchte ich auch ganz allgemein noch einmal aussprechen, an alle die sich angesprochen fühlen.

I put 5 stars just because this game got an amazing potential and if taken care of can truly bloom into one of the best football game ever made !

To make it short as a GK fan, playing this post is not really Worth it as for now, reaching dive is ridiculous, barely moving from his position making any save a pure challenge ... Penalty are impossible to save because of this ... AI GK is not challenging enough, every attack is an garantie goal because of the said dive range but also because the AI will stay on his line even if an opposite player is in his zone ... making a very large space into the goal very easy to score.

You can't place your wall during an free kick, you can't make an free kick given in your zone, an defender will do it for you preventing you players to osition themself up.

As a defender or mid the game play right just as an striker I guess but the AI GK don't give enough challenge to really appreciate nay goal you can make.

As for the rest the contents is amazing you can play every league you want and start as a youngster in the bottom of an English league 6 team for exemple.

If you like football is the game to take for sure, i'm all confident that the game dev will make improvements further and further to create a perfect experience !

The developer is genuinely engaged with the community, listening to their problems and requests, and implementing improvements and fixes. It’s not a perfect game – there’s room for improvement in several areas – but the fact that I can’t get this game out of my head for days on end must mean something.

If you’re not sure whether to spend your money on this version, try the free 2D version, and when you can’t get the game out of your head (which will happen), don’t hesitate to support the project and try the 3D version.

Bloody love this game. From an old school Sensible Soccer player, I have to say this feels like a true successor, and a game I've been hoping for, for many years!

I stumbled across the 2003 version and became instantly addicted.

The 2026 3D version is a fantastic upgrade. The menu systems are great, the options within the game are extensive with more options being added all the time. The 3d match engine is superb, excellent camera options and fantastic gameplay. So many ways to play the game (manage from the touchline, player manager etc) with real depth to the career modes

This game is absolutely amazing with daily updates making it better all the time. Better than a lot of AAA titles, I'm having a blast playing it and will upgrade my subscription for the 2027 version

Well done Andreas - this is a stunning piece of work

This game is an amazing project. As an old SWOS player from back in the days this make me relive that times with an awesome football game with so many ways to play and score better goals than SWOS. It takes some time to get used to the game and controls, but the first goals, assists feel so good. Now i'm trying to score even crazier goals. I'm in my 3rd season and already played Champions League en Euro Cup for national team.

The constant improvements and updates makes it really cool to see it progress.
For an early access game there's already so much to do, as a player and as a manager.
Whenever there is something like a bug or not working correctly the developer takes this in consideration and takes time to chat with people thru discord and this gets solved in updates, actually this is amazing to see and be part of.

Look forward to end game and in between playing and discussing with other players thru discord.

Fun times

There are rough edges here and there but considering it's early access, I have to give it five stars. I've always been looking for a football game I could play forever. The depth of the game is huge, every career experience will be different. Will give it a huge playing value.

Also the commitment and helpfulness from Andreas is something you rarely see.

I have always wanted to play a football game that had a large database like Football Manager, this game is it. It is a lot of fun and it will also scratch the itch of those that enjoyed sensible soccer. The good news is that this is just the beginning, so the potential is enormous!
